Player protection

1. Start with a budget
British law sets the gambling age at 18, and Jokabet confirms age before any first withdrawal. The law is only the minimum, though. A better personal rule is to stake money you had already earmarked for entertainment, and to walk away the moment the evening stops being enjoyable.
Jokabet deserves extra care on this front because it operates outside the UK regulatory framework, so some safeguards British players are used to simply are not there.
2. What changes with an offshore licence
- GamStop has no effect. The scheme only blocks operators licensed in Britain, and Jokabet is not one of them.
- No UK adjudicator. A dispute goes to Jokabet's support first and, failing that, to the Curaçao Gaming Authority.
- Exclusion on request. You must ask the casino for it yourself; no national register acts on your behalf.
3. Jokabet's own tools
Deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion are all available. Self-exclusion goes through live chat or email: put the request in writing so a copy exists, and check whether it covers other sites belonging to the same operator, because that does not happen by default.
4. Blocking software and banking blocks
With GamStop out of the picture, a device blocker is the firmest barrier you can put up. BetBlocker, which costs nothing, and Gamban both prevent gambling sites from opening on any device where they are installed. Put one on every phone, tablet and laptop you use, and hand the password to someone you trust if that is possible.
Most high-street banks in the UK also offer a gambling block inside their app. Once it is on, a card payment to a casino is simply declined.
5. Signs to watch for
- Repeatedly going over the time or money you meant to spend.
- Raising deposits to recover what you have lost.
- Borrowing, or dipping into money set aside for rent and bills.
- Keeping your gambling secret from family or friends.
- Restlessness or low mood on days without play.
Even a single sign on this list deserves attention.
6. Habits that help
- Choose a deposit limit before you ever play, never in the middle of a losing streak.
- Fix a time limit as well, and let a phone alarm enforce it.
- Keep gambling apart from bills and debts: never play to cover them.
- Stop for breaks, and skip sessions when tired, stressed or drinking.
- Count bonus funds inside your budget rather than on top of it.
Breaking your own rules is a signal in itself, and a good moment to request a time-out or pick up the phone.
7. Where to get help, free
- BeGambleAware is behind the National Gambling Helpline: dial 0808 8020 133 free of charge, day or night, all week.
- GamCare offers advice, online chat and treatment, for gamblers and for those close to them.
- Gamblers Anonymous UK holds peer groups in towns across Britain and online.
Relatives and friends are welcome to use every one of these services. Nobody on the helpline will push you into anything, and the conversation stays private.
8. What we can and cannot do
This site takes no bets and has no power to close a Jokabet account. Our part is accuracy: each review spells out the licence position, and the home page sets out what GamStop does and does not cover. Questions are welcome by email, and the contact page explains what we can help with.
